How were the NBA All-Stars selected?

Fans, players, and media each contribute to selecting the starting lineups for each conference, with fan votes holding the most weight. Coaches then select the reserves for their respective conferences. This carefully crafted selection process ensures a roster of the most talented and deserving players in the league.
The voting process involves a weighted system where each group’s vote contributes significantly to the final outcome. Players are ranked within each position group (guards and frontcourt) based on their scores from fan, player, and media votes. The players with the highest combined scores are named starters for the All-Star Game. This system ensures that the most deserving players are recognized and selected to represent their teams and the league on this prestigious stage.
Who will be the coaches of the 4 All-Star teams?
Mark Daigneault, head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder, will lead one of the four All-Star teams at the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. This honor comes as a result of the Thunder clinching the best record in the Western Conference through the designated date. Daigneault will be joined by an assistant coach from his staff, who will also helm one of the All-Star squads.
Similarly, Kenny Atkinson, head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, will guide one of the All-Star teams, having secured the best record in the Eastern Conference. An assistant coach from Atkinson’s staff will also serve as a head coach, adding another layer of coaching expertise to the All-Star festivities.
